Bylaws for NTDA
NTDA BY-LAWS

Section A – Officers
- 1. Selected for two-year terms: President, Vice President, Community Relations Secretary.
2. Selected for continuous positions at the annual discretion of NTDA membership: Secretary, Treasurer
3. The President and Vice President shall appoint a: Web Master and Tournament Host, and Hospitality Coordinator.
4. The President shall be responsible for: Organizing and presiding over the annual NTDA meeting, correspondence to members, and will help run NTDA Championship Tournament.
5. The Vice President shall be responsible for: Overseeing Tab Room at NTDA Championship Tournament, assembly of tournament schedule and verification of qualifiers for NTDA Tournament.
6. The Community Relations Director shall be responsible for: Actively recruiting new member schools into NTDA at NTDA sanctioned invitational tournaments, procuring donations for NTDA Championship Tournament, and will help run NTDA Championship Tournament.
7. The Secretary shall be responsible for: Maintaining an up-to-date list of all students qualifying for the NTDA Championship tournament, by-laws, updating webmaster on list of current students qualifyers, recording minutes at NTDA meeting, and will help run NTDA Championship Tournament.
8. The Treasurer shall be responsible for: Maintaining a paid school/individual membership list, collecting all dues paid, updating webmaster on list of current paid member schools, provide financial report at annual NTDA meeting, and will help run NTDA Championship Tournament.
Section B – Membership
1. Membership deadline for participation in the NTDA Championship Tournament shall be 10 days prior to tournament date.2. Private and Public schools are eligible for membership in NTDA.
3. Schools seeking membership into NTDA must agree to, and the head coach must sign, a statement of principles as part of the membership forms.
4. Membership fees are $75.00 per school prior to January 1, $150.00 after January 1st for the current school year.
5. NTDA shall maintain an online calendar of qualifying tournaments.
6. NTDA Championship tournament shall include a $75 judge bond. If no judges for a member school are deemed “no show,” the bond will be returned or may be applied to the following year’s annual membership fee.
7. Exceptions to these rules must be approved by the NTDA Executive Officers.
Section C – Tournament and Eligibility for NTDA Championships.
- 1. Only member schools are eligible for the NTDA Championship Tournament. Schools must be a member by the membership deadline to enter the Championship Tournament
2. Students must place in the top six to qualify for the Championship Tournament. Maverick teams may not qualify or compete in the NTDA Championship Tournament.
3. Hybrid teams, such as partners from two (2) different schools, cannot compete at the NTDA Championship Tournament.
4. Schools hosting qualifying tournaments must be NTDA members by membership deadline for winners to qualify for Championship Tournament
5. ALL tournament results should be sent to Secretary and webmaster.
6. Tournament registration fees will be $20.00 per student per event entered.
7. Schools must provide qualified judges for every two entries or parts thereof.

9. All scholarships awarded will be as follows: 1st Place - $300.00, 2nd Place - $200.00 and 3rd Place - $100.00
10. Money awarded will be sent by Treasurer to student at the end of the student’s senior year.
11. Cecil Jordan Scholarship is given to a deserving student from NTDA; applications should be received by April 30th each year.
Section D – Annual Meeting
- 1. The Executive officers shall meet annually each fall semester.
2. NTDA Member School shall have an annual meeting during lunch at the NTDA Championship Tournament.
3. Schools hosting tournaments not paying NTDA dues will be removed from NTDA calendar.
4. Recommendations for changes should be sent to the President by February 1st.
5. The President will compile and forward recommendations to all members before NTDA Championship Tournament.
